Fireworks {America x Reader}
A quiet sigh leaves your lips as you look out your window at the fireworks going off. Your friend, Alfred -a loud hamburger loving friend of yours- was having a huge party to celebrate his birthday as well as the 4th of July. But of course your parents forbid you from going, locking you inside your room and saying that your were not to go outside for the rest of the night. Why though? You had only asked a simple question...Turning over on your (f/c) bed so that you weren't facing the window you close your eyes, it would be better to sleep though the night you decide.
Clack, Clack, Clack. The sound of rocks hitting your window woke you up. Picking up your phone you check the time, 11:54 pm. With a long groan you push yourself off the bed and towards the window, curious and annoyed. A slight wind flows into your dark room as you push the window open. Your eyes widen as you see Alfred, in all of his beautiful glory, waving at you with a Cheshire grin. "Yo (f/n)!" Giving the blonde a confused look you lean over the window frame. "What are you doing here Alfred?!" You whisper yell down at him. "You didn't come to my party! And I uh..." Rolling your eyes as Alfred trailed off you smile. "Is that really the only reason?" Looking back up at you Alfred shakes his head. "I've gotta take you somewhere! So get your butt down here!" 'Tch' ing you walk back into your room in search of shoes, soon finding a random pair of sneakers. Once you deemed yourself ready, you climb out of your window. Though, it was not long before you found yourself dangling from your window sill looking for a foothold in a slight panic because your fingers were slipping. "Dudette! Just let go, I'll catch you!" You release the window sill with a small gulp. The fall surprisingly only a few seconda long, leaving you shocked -That is until you realized Alfred was still holding you- a bright blush erupted onto your face as you wriggled out of the american's grasp. Your bedroom window was suddenly illuminated from the inside, quiet voices echoing out. You and Alfred share a look as if saying 'let's scram' before he ran away while pulling you along.
After a few minutes of Alfred dragging you through a forestry area you began to question where you were going, though you only received short answers of "we're almost there." Stopping abruptly, Alfred turned to you. "Close your eyes." Too tired to argue you comply. "'Kay, go foreword." Placing a hand on your back Alfred lead you foreword for a little ways. " open your eyes." You open your eyes to see a field with a box in the middle and the starry sky stretching above the two of you. "C'mon!" Alfred laughed pushing you lightly then running ahead to where the box was. Smiling to yourself you chase after the enthusiastic blonde.
Pulling out a few items from the box Alfred turned to you, showing you several fireworks in his hands "Let's set these bad boys off!" Once the two of you had set up the fireworks up so that it would be a chain reaction, you lit the first one. A explosion of blue, white, red, yellow, green and any color you could think of ensued after. You gape in awe - not realizing that Alfred kept stealing glances in your direction, growing more and more nervous. After a time you and Alfred had used up all of the fireworks ranging from fountains of color to screeching little tanks. The two of you lay on the ground together, looking up to the stars. "Hey Alfred," you prop yourself up on a arm, looking over at your blue-eyed friend."hmm?" "Thanks for everything. But I do have to ask, why did you set all of this up for just you and I?" Alfred's face became several shades of red. "Well.. Um.. I -uh.." Stealing a glance at your face Alfred seemed to regain his usual confidence. "A true hero like me couldn't just let a damsel in distress die of boredom!" Sitting up Alfred fully faced you. " and because I.. Because I l-love you.." You blink several times as you sit up, your heart speeding up. You reach up and brush hair out of Alfred's face as he avoids your gaze. "I do too," looking at you in surprise Alfred then smiles, leaning of towards you, little by little. Rolling your eyes playfully you use your other hand and pull his shirt collar, pressing your lips to his. You break apart, your forehead pressed against his as you look into each others eyes. "Oh yeah. Alfred, what was your birthday wish?" Alfred chucked as he wrapped his arms around your frame. "My wish was to have you, (F/n) (L/n)."

The summer sun is rising over the Kirkland-Jones Household when Alfred F. Jones decides to make a move. He paces back and forth in his room, thinking furiously of a new, original way to ask the burning question he’s been longing to say for who knows how long. Agitatedly running fingers through his thick, unruly blond hair, Alfred continues to wear a rut in the floor of his bedroom as he ruminates, fidgeting anxiously.
“BLOODY HELL!” A fist pounding on his door startles the American. He stops pacing in time to hear, “—quit it with your damn pacing, Alfred! I can hear

Alfred groaned as his alarm went off. The incessant beeping continued until he hit the snooze button. Bright red letter proclaimed that it was 7:45 AM.
Knowing he was going to be late for work if he slept in any later, he drug himself out of bed, nearly stubbing his toe on the night stand. Cursing under his breath, he grabbed his glasses and headed for the bathroom.
Bright blue eyes stared back at him in the mirror. He looked like hell, as he did every morning. After waking himself up by splashing cold water on his face, he snuck a peek outside of his window.
It was a beautiful day in New York City! The sky was as b
